For this project, we are working in collaboration with South Central Arts, an artist network that encourages local artists to take part in improving the community around them throughout South Central.
The Urban Studio is providing administrative capacity to carry out the community engagement, design, and implementation of up to 11 murals throughout South Central Los Angeles. This project is a contract through the Trust for Public Land, funded by State Water Resources Control Board, State Coastal Conservancy, U.S. HUD Community Development Block Grant, Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, the City of LA TFAR Funding, State Ocean Protection Council, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, The Rose Hills Foundation, MUFG Union Bank, The Boeing Company, Kaiser Permanente, and The S. Mark Taper Foundation.
The local artists we are working with for the mural projects are: Melissa Rodriguez, Brenda Cibrian, Pepe te Adora, Sen, Ruth Ferguson, Yajaira Sesmas, Manuel Vdah Bracamonte, Your Royal Roots, Bryan Clemente, and Tao
