WHO YOU ARE
We are looking to contract a motivated self-starting individual for 5 to 10-hours a week over 2-months to develop, implement, and test a system for recruiting and maintaining a partner and resource roster for the Urban Studio. This role will also include developing a database of potential project partners (freelancers, independent contractors), funding opportunities (grant and fee-for-service) and strategic partnerships. Ideally, the candidate would have established relationships in one of the two regions our work takes place in (Washington, D.C. or Los Angeles).
ABOUT US
The Urban Studio (US) is a non-profit design firm whose mission is to advance design thinking for equitable and sustainable urbanism. We are people of color, designing for communities of color to green cities for all. While our project work spans across the U.S., our work is rooted in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, where the US team members call home.
How are we defining ‘partners’? Values-aligned individuals and organizations with complementary skills and expertise that contribute to equitable outcomes in the built environment (e.g. architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, design strategy, public health, visual communications, organizational management, community organizing, etc.) that we can team up with on prospective proposals and contract for in-progress projects and initiatives.
The Urban Studio has grown rapidly over the past two years and we are looking forward to this next step in growing our collaboration network to drive more inclusive design processes to ensure that all people have the means to create healthy, vibrant, and just communities.
